Applied Science & Dependencies

I have a personal interest in Applied Science - the ability to practically apply scientific knowledge to solve real-world problems and I think it can really help within QA and People Management.

Understanding Decision-Making Models, Kirkpatrick Model, Agile Development, Shift-Left, RACI, SMART Goals, Skill Matrices, ROTA & Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs can be invaluable in establishing better QA Management and People Management practices and processes.

Equally within QA I think it is important to understand Dependencies. Dependencies within the game development process but also dependencies between game features.

I have experience working with some of these elements, having created RACI Matrices and ROTAs from the ground up and advocating for Shift-Left approaches.

Understanding Dependencies

I think it's really important to foster relationships with other departments and understand any dependencies they have on QA and vice versa to better the service and information that QA can provide to other departments and vice versa. I have worked with production and department leads in the past to create these relationships.

Use of Frameworks & Methodologies(RACI, ROTA, Shift-Left etc.)

I have a personal interest in Applied Science and utilizing frameworks such as SMART Goals, OKRs, RACIs, ROTAs, etc. to improve all aspects of QA where necessary. I have worked with all of the mentioned methodologies in the past in some capacity.

Documentation (Checklists & Templates, Reports)

I believe it to be vital for QA to document the things they do in order to retain a receipt of what's been tested and what the findings have been based on those tests while also being able to give context to the various data that QA tracks.

I also believe in structured testing through checklists in order to organize the complexities that arise from testing a large complex project and utilizing templates to remain efficient. I do however also believe in diversifying the overall QA Strategy with a mix of various testing methodologies that go beyond mere checklists to cover testing from a variety of angles.

I have extensive experience with setting up a variety of documentation, reports, test cases and templates for all sorts of purposes.
